Bypass Closet Doors
A bypass closet door uses two or more panels that slide past each other on parallel tracks, so the closet opens without any door swinging into the room. It is the standard sliding closet setup for a wide reach-in closet. Crateworks builds bypass closet doors in slim aluminum with glass, mirror, or panel infill.
Best for: Wide reach-in closets where a swinging or bifold door would crowd the room.

Common questions
- What is a bypass closet door?
- A bypass closet door is two or more panels that slide past each other on parallel tracks. One panel slides behind the other to open either side of the closet, so it never swings into the room. It is the common choice for a wide reach-in closet.
- Can you reach the whole closet with bypass doors?
- Bypass doors open one half of the closet at a time, since one panel slides behind the other. For full simultaneous access across a wide opening, a folding or pocket configuration opens the whole span. We help you pick based on how you use the closet.
