A closet inside a heated Toronto home spends the winter in dry, forced-air air and the summer in a humid stretch the lake makes stickier than most inland cities see, and a panel core rated for only one half of that swing can shrink at the edges or swell and stick over enough years. A stable, well-made core shrugs off both directions. The bigger local factor is the room itself: Victorian and Edwardian houses through Cabbagetown and Riverdale were often built with no closets at all, and the ones added since rarely sit at a clean right angle, while a Leaside post-war bungalow's original closets tend to be small enough that a full walk-in conversion means starting from an odd footprint rather than a blank rectangle. A modular kit assumes standard spacing that none of these rooms actually have.
